Grief is Like a River

My grief is like a river---
I have to let it flow,
But I myself determine
Just where the banks
will go.

Some days the currents take me
In waves of guilt and pain,
But there are always
quiet pools
Where I can rest again.

I crash on rocks of anger--
My faith seems faint indeed---
But there are other swimmers
Who know just what I need.

Their love hands to hold me
When the waters are too swift,
And someone kind to listen
When I just seem to drift.

Grief’s river is a process
Of relinquishing the past.
By swimming in hope’s channels
I’ll reach the shore at last.

GRIEF EXPLORATIONS SUPPORT GROUP- A six week group to explore ways to heal your grief.
THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR CHILD GROUP - An on-going monthly group dealing with the special issue of losing a child.
OTHER GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS OFFERED- See Calendar
CAMP ERIN - CHILDREN’S CAMP - A weekend camping experience for grieving youth who have experienced the death of a loved one. Activities are designed for learning, sharing and growing in a fun, safe and supportive environment.
CIRCLE OF REMEMBRANCE - A community memorial event offered during the pre-holiday season to honor and remember all those we have lost. 2010 date is November 18.
RESOURCES - Comprehensive knowledge of available resources in the community for you during your time of loss.
