Frederick G. Dosher – Board Chair
Fred is a retired Delta
Airlines Captain and has lived in Kona for eleven years.
Elected to the Hospice of Kona Board in November 2007, Fred has also
completed Volunteer Training and enjoys community outreach and
“friendraising” for Hospice. He has a long history of volunteer
association including board experience at Family Haven Battered Women’s
Shelter, Cumming, Ga., Chattahoochee Nature Center, Atlanta, Ga.,
Chairman, Alpharetta Clean and Beautiful Commission, Alpharetta, Ga.,
the Kona Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Keauhou-Kona Yacht Club.
Fred earned an MPA degree in 1982 with an emphasis on community
organization and not-for-profit administration and leadership. (HOK

Hazel Beck – Vice Chair
Hazel
is President of The Beck Group, Inc., a business consulting practice
based on the Big Island of Hawaii. She partners with business owners to
reduce operating costs, improve processes and develop strategy. She
moved to Kailua-Kona from San Diego, California in 2007. Prior to
coming to the Big Island, Hazel had over 21 years of professional
experience as a business consultant, facilitator and trainer in global
manufacturing environments. She is a member of the Kona-Kohala Chamber
of Commerce, the Kona Executives Association (Vice President) and the
Hilo Bay Executives Association (Vice President). Her personal
interests include: music, travel, reading, auto touring, quilting,
gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Hazel
holds a B.A. in Business Management, cum laude, from Hiram College. (HOK Board member since 1/09 – term expires 1/12) |

James Hitzemann – Treasurer
Jim’s background includes
ten years as a Seattle Commercial banker and fifteen years in both
Seattle and San Diego as an owner and sales director of equipment
leasing companies. He retired in 1995 and moved to the Big Island in
2004. In addition to his Hospice of Kona responsibilities, he is
currently Treasurer for both the Keauhou-Kona Yacht Club & The
Heights on Hualalai Community Association. (HOK Board member since 7/08

Gerry Rott – Board Director
A Kona resident since
1975, Gerry is a realtor working with Clark Realty Corporation. She was
a Finish Line Director for the Ford Ironman from 1988-2006 and
continues as a Producer and Race Director for the Lavaman Triathlon.
Elected to the Hospice of Kona Board in 2007, Gerry has also served as
a Board Director for PATH since 1994. (HOK Board member since 5/07 –

Joseph K. Spencer III - Board
Director
Joe is a 40-year resident
of Kona and a retired administrative manager with Kamehameha Investment
Corporation, developer of Keauhou Resort. He is a part-time consultant
and active in community work with Hospice of Kona (Board), Kona Family
YMCA (Board Manager) and other community organizations. Joe’s is an
avid golfer and music enthusiast. (HOK Board member since 4/04 – term

Jim
Williams – Board Director
Born
in Northern California, Jim spent 32 years as a high school teacher and
coach in the San Jose area. After retiring, he and wife Margaret moved
to Hawaii and settled in Kona. Jim has been actively involved in Kona
Outdoor Circle and is a past Board Member. He is currently on the Board
of the Keauhou-Kona Yacht Club. Volunteer activities include fund
raisers for Kona Community Hospital and American Cancer Society. Golf,
gardening, hiking and travel are main interests. (HOK Board member

Marcy
Rogers – Board Director
Marcy
Rogers is a Registered Professional Nurse employed at Kona Community
Hospital since July 1994. Marcy spends an inordinate number of hours
ensuring the wellness of the Kona community. Her level of community
involvement stretches over a broad spectrum as she has been called upon
by the Police Department, local pre-schools and middle schools, the
Department of Health, the Adult Day Care Center and a variety of
physicians and dentists to provide in service education. In addition,
Marcy volunteers her time to represent the hospital in a number of
community events such as Christmas and Fourth of July Parades and canoe
paddling. (HOK Board
